Creating a new SEN block for Critchill School
Hookway is pleased to have been involved in a unique project to develop a Working Futures Hub for SEN pupils at Chritchill School. The Working Futures Hub forms a critical part of the School, providing students with the aspirations, skills and experiences that they need to enter the world of employment.
The building was constructed using an offsite construction method utilising structurally insulated panels (SIPS) which meant less time on site. On site the building was erected within one week.
From planning to completion
The requirements of this project were all embracing and Hookway was asked to manage and deliver the entire process. This included designing the new building, obtaining planning permission, tendering the works and project managing the construction activity.
Designing for Special Educational Needs
As part of the project we advised on a number of key elements including; SEN facilities, structural and design compliance, drainage solutions and how to achieve the most appropriate colour scheme for the Client.
