Refurbishment projects in Cheltenham
Hookway is about to commence work some exciting projects in Cheltenham. One is the refurbishment of the St Thomas More Church Hall including a completely new building façade to replace the current plastic clad frontage which has a distinctly 1970’s feel.
This is a very popular and well-used building. The original church building was demolished some years ago and has been sorely missed ever since. The church has now raised the funds for the refurbishment themselves.
The planned work is expected to completely transform the building, enabling it to function as a Church rather than just a Hall. The local community is looking forward to seeing the final outcome and being able to enjoy the new, improved venue later this year. Planning has been submitted and permission is due back on 24th August,
Hookway also worked on cladding the local school, St Thomas More Primary, 2 years ago. The new cladding has radically improved the appearance of the school, which in turn has had a positive impact on how the school is perceived within the community. This has helped achieve an increase in pupil numbers. We are now building a new kitchen for St Gregory’s School as well as refurbishing two other primary schools in the town.
