£7.5 million worth of CIF bids secured in 2019

Hookway helped over 30 academies secure a combined total of more than £7.5 million in Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) funding for 2019. The individual funding was approved in April and the projects then needed to be planned, implemented and completed by the beginning of September in time for the start of the new academic year.

From boiler replacements to school building refurbishments

The various CIF Funding projects were approved to address a variety of different issues such as safeguarding, building compliance and poor building conditions. Work included complete roof repairs, constructing a secure entrance lobby, boundary wall repairs, washroom refurbishments, removal of an asbestos roof, boiler replacements and alterations to provide additional classroom space.

Ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery

Projects took between 5-12 weeks to complete depending on the scale of the work. Our team has worked tirelessly throughout to ensure that every aspect of the work was completed to an extremely high standard, delivered on deadline and that the outcome met with our clients' approval.

We completed a number of projects for Royal Wotton Bassett Academy Trust. Jon Stewart, the Academy's business manager said;

“Hookway have been fantastic for us, they have prepared all of our bids and CIF has made huge difference to our buildings over recent years.

"This year we had two bids totalling over a million pounds for Lawn Manor. Our new boilers and plant, and new roof projects, have gone completely smoothly, safely and within budget”.

Testimonial

“Hookway really understand schools – including their needs and the financial pressure that they are often under - and we have a long-standing and very positive working relationship with the company.”

“Tom Bishop led us through the two-year process with a calm and professional demeanour. His contribution to the project was central to the completion of the building on-time (during the pandemic) and the design outcomes have suited our teaching and performance needs completely. A highly successful design and architectural project.”

“We had to prepare and construct additional facilities, within two terms, to accommodate a child with severe and profound needs. The initial task seemed totally overwhelming, however Hookway took on the role of project managing the nearly £100,000 extension and enabled school life to continue with very few changes. ”
